Acting Director Ocker served as the Associate Medical Center Director at the White River Junction (WRJ) VA Medical Center. Her VA career began at the WRJ VA as a student nurse in 1985. In 1986, and she received her Associates Degree in Nursing from New Hampshire Technical College. Ms. Ocker earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 2001, and a Masters of Business Administration in 2009; graduating with high honors.
Acting Director Ocker's VA journey has involved many roles. She started as staff nurse, then served as Nurse Manager of the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department. Later, she was appointed Service Line Manager for Sensory and Physical Rehabilitation Services. In this role, she facilitated the implementation of the Polytrauma/TBI Program.
Enhancing the healthcare experience for Veterans and their loved ones is something Acting Director Ocker is passionate about. VA is the home to our heroes, realizing this she worked to launch an Interior Design Program to create a patient centered care environment, which is now deployed at all VA's within VISN 1.
