Bedford VA employee Will Hatley has chosen a good road.

A Vietnam Veteram, Will served his country honorably and had trouble transitioning back into civilian life. Will wandered many roads.

Struggles were many, but Will drew strength from his faith. He turned his struggles into triumph and now dedicates his life to serving Veterans.

He helps Veterans at Bedford VA find jobs, housing and financial stability. He works with more than 70 federal, state and local groups to get Veterans the help they need and the benefits they deserve.

Will's resolve and ability to empathize with Veterans was noticed by members of Hanscom Federal Credit Union, who also work tirelessly helping Veterans. The credit union nominated him for the Lowell Spinners "Hero Among Us" award and the Spinners treated a group of Wills friends to a baseball game, tour of the stadium and a BBQ!

The greatest thrill of all for Will was having the chance to throw out the first pitch! "This is huge" said Will, "It's one of the things on my bucket list!"

Wills experience has brought many Veterans from the shadows of their past to the road of their future. And for that reason, he is dubbed "A Hero Among Us."
